One of the highlights on the #Cluny Animal Trust calendar is our annual Golf Day. All we can say is WOW…what a fantastic day Saturday was! The event was a huge success, with over 40 golf players who all braved the early morning cold, but once the sun came up it turned into the most glorious winter’s day in the mountains…which makes for a truly wonderful place to play a round of golf . There was so much laughter, fun and good times had by all as well as a lot of Jägermeister (courtesy of Lukas Kleynhans, Dr Marthie’s dad who personally made sure that the “gees” just kept going throughout the day?) …the feedback received from the players was that everyone had an absolutely fantastic day of golf!

The Clarens Golf Course was as always in pristine condition and we must thank Bernie, Richard, Ronel and their team for hosting us, the hospitality and food was top-notch! The competition was a 4-ball alliance (two scores to count) Scramble Drive – well done to all the players because there was truly some amazing golf played and scores made!

Then after all that golf and a couple of drinks at the bar, once the sun had gone down it was into the conference room for an informal dinner as well as the prize giving and Annual Cluny Animal Trust Auction and what fun we had! A big thank you goes to everyone who donated the wonderful prizes and the auction items. We raised over R30,000 just from the auction alone and we are going to be able to help a lot more animals and their owners by providing them with much-needed veterinary care, so we thank everyone for their generosity!

The Cluny Animal Trust team would also like to thank all the golf players for taking the time to come and sink a putt to save a mutt! We hope we can count on you to play again next year, and if you want to sign up now to book your spot then please let us know.

Then lastly to the wonderful people of Clarens, Fouriesburg and Bethlehem who continue to support us in so many ways from making delicious home-made soups…to lending us wine glasses…and everything in between we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for always being there and supporting the Cluny Animal Trust…as the saying goes ‘it takes a village’ and we appreciate you all more than you know!
