I had the pleasure of attending a motivational Workshop at the Protea the other day. Downstairs in the conference room presentations were going on, discussing a variety of topics ranging from Drug and Alcohol Abuse in the Workplace (Mme Moshoeshoe, Mme Again and Ntate Mthembu from Beyers Naude Halfway House), Sexual Health (Mme Mofokeng from the Local Clinic) and Motivational speakers Ntate Ntsebe Mofokeng, Miss Mthembu, and Dr Willy Mulders (Motivational speaker – Local). Although most of the presentations were in Sesotho I was able to follow the gist, and was very impressed by the way Willy Mulders flowed between languages with a great passion and simple directness. (I recorded some of it in a video, soon to follow)

Says Ntate Abie: the Workshop was Team/Capacity building. When I arrived in this office, I immediately realized that the Employees needed this type of occasion. The whole idea is to Motivate the Employees to be more effective, efficient and productive.

We also introduced the Employees of the Month for January and February respectively. January Mr Thabo Mokoena (General Worker) and Thandiwe Motloung (Administrative Officer). Acting Unit Manager – Abie Mofokeng – presented the awards to the well deserving Employees.

“We have a responsibility to make Clarens one of the best towns in South Africa. When you get to N1 Bloemfontein, OR Tambo or the N3, from there you immediately notice that there is a place called Clarens, the Jewel of the Free State. Clarens is unique and special, let’s conserve and preserve nature for the betterment of Clarens.”
