The mountainous setting (2010 meters above sea level), stunning views, an abundance of game and wildlife, make Rebellie the perfect place for visitors to soak in serenity and tranquility:

Function Venue: The Shed
This is a neatly converted Chopper shed with an equipped kitchen, bar with fridges and male and female ablution facilities. It accommodates up to 80 people for wedding receptions and 30 to 35 people for conferences, team buildng, leadership courses , youth groups or workshops. During the winter months, the indoor log fireplace provides warmth and cosy comfort. The most beautiful sunsets can be viewed from The Shed. Camping and tents are welcome around The Shed. (Maximum 8 tents or caravans.) Ablutions are in The Shed and electricity is drawn from The Shed.



Accommodation: Mooihoek Chalet (Sleeps 8)Spacious rondavel with central fireplace. Comprises main bedroom with queen size bed, second bedroom with 2 single beds, loft bedroom with 2 single beds and two full bathrooms. Huge open deck with built in braai and panoramic view. Meals available on request.

Accommodation: Loslit (Sleeps 12)
An ideal unit for small groups (eg 4×4 groups, school leaders, church groups, team building etc.) Has 6 rooms with 2 single beds in each room. room, a communal kitchen and two bathrooms. An adjacent indoor lapa with roll up canvas sides is ideal for group gatherings.

Quad-biking
Guests are welcome to bring their quads along when visiting Rebellie. Eco quad biking is only allowed on the 4 x 4 trails and only between 10am and 4pm. No driving off the trails will be permitted.

4 x 4 Trails
Rebellie has two 4×4 trails, and these are rated amongst the top ten trails in South Africa,
The Mountain trail: (rated 3-4) offers spectacular mountain scenery with views of the Maluti Mountains and the Golden Gate Highlands National Park.There are some serious rock climbs and steep ascents to take you to the top of the world. (At 2,200 m above sea level it is known as one of the highest trails in the country.) The route is technically tough and requires 4 x 4 experience.
The Kloof trail: (rated 5 – no single vehicles allowed) This trail winds its way along a natural mountain stream with a picnic spot at its lowest point under an English Willow. Wildlife is often encountered on both trails.

Game viewing:
Rebellie boasts a wide variety of game. Look out for Eland, Zebra, Red Hartebeest, Blesbok, Springbok, Black Wildebeest, Grey Rhebok and Mountain Reedbuck. (Bring your binoculars.)

Bird watching
Bring a Newman’s or Sasol bird guide and spot some of the over 100 identified birdspecies, hosted in this area.
Birds of prey thrive in this mountainous region. The Jackal Buzzard is often spotted perching on the boundry fence, high up behind the Elegant Lodge. Frequently seen around accommodation units, are the Sentinal Rock Thrush, Orangebreasted Rockjumper and the Redwinged Starling, which loves nesting under the thatchroofs.
Special appearances of the Secretary Bird are not uncommon. Remember your binoculars.

Hiking
Hiking is not restricted to certain trails. Guests have the freedom of the farm to do game viewing on foot. Test your fitness by challenging the mountain slopes to the top where you will meet up with the 4×4 trail. Be sure to take water and/or refreshments as this is serious climbing! The lower 4 x 4 trail leads to the kloof and a lovely picnic spot under the willows. Relax – enjoy and escape from reality beside the chattering mountain stream. Help yourself to a drink from the uncontaminated spring water, originating high in the mountain. Hikers are welcome to visit Rebellie Game Farm at any time, but there is a small fee for day visitors.
Mountain Biking
The 6 km winding dirt road that leads to Rebellie from the turnoff, is ideal for mountain biking. Furthermore the rugged 4 x 4 trails promise to be very challenging for the fitness of the rider. Cycling on the tarmac road towards either Clarens or Golden Gate, promises excellent scenery in the serene mountain landscape.
Mountain bikers are welcome to cycle on the farm, but there is a small fee for day visitors.
